Success is in the air! Despite the general slowdown caused by CQVID we are making progress on the Hub. You can see the results to date in the photo above—new paint, windows and roof! We are grateful to the Damoth Fund for their grant to help fund the siding. Thanks to Bliss Construction for their caring partnership in this effort. Two benches were donated: one by the Dimon family, and one by the Clifton Fine Community Fund. Two picnic tables were also donated: one by the Molnar/Coughlin Family, and one in honor of Bob Englert. None of this could have happened without the support of our community for preserving OUR historic church building.
More good news! We received a Cliton Fine Community Fund grant to support the cost of acquiring permits to put in a new breakwall AND the Cranberry Lake Boat Club has pledged $10,000 over five years to help pay the cost of replacing the breakwall. Free dock usage continued in our second year, thanks to our partnership with the boat club. The upcoming projects include replacing the steps and electrical service, assessing the status of the water systems and additional planning for building rehabilitation projects.
Your support matters: If you wish to make a donation to keep the good work going, you can make your check to the Northern New York Community Foundation for the “Cranberry Lake North Shore Hub Fund” and mail to:
